Westcoasting

One more sleep before the real adventure begins. Though so far it has been quite the trip already. Going through Kitchener airport security is always delightful. Nobody seems to be in a rush there. I sailed through, Carsten got a pad down, a couple of little old ladies had their carry on thoroughly searched. I wondered what they might have tried to sneak on board. Knitting needles are allowed now. I know because I brought mine! If you ever take a flight out of this cute little airport, go there hungry. The bistro has delicious food and fair prices. I had the broccoli and cheese quiche and it was delicious.

The flight was uneventful, short stop in Calgary to switch passengers and crew. The girl in front of me commented on the sticky air before take off with the words 'they should open the windows'.

Vancouver had balmy temperatures and the expected rain for us. We got to stay in a very nice hotel in a very nice room with a very nice bathroom with a soaker tub that I would love to have in our house at home. I just love it when I actually get wet and stay warm in the bathtub. After walking around downtown and looking at the olympia torch and the digital whale sculpture, we had a late lunch in a cool little sushi place named Sea Monstr Sushi in Gastown. Delicious and inexpensive. I managed to not go into the Fluevog store, it wasn't easy.

We're now in Pemberton, staying in the Pemberton Valley Lodge where we are provided with a rubber ducky bath companion. Very cute.
