these boots are made for walking...

These babies are ready to rock the trails. I was lucky enough to get a generous gift certificate for MEC from my managers at work - thank you Daryl, Phil and Ian. I finally made it to the store in Toronto last weekend and picked up these sweet boots. They are not just extremely pretty, they also hug my feet real nice and I hope we will be friends for a long long time.

The next planned hike will be on April 20 (Happy Birthday Jude) and we will be doing the first of 3 hikes in the Dufferin-Hi section of the Bruce Trail. I am planning on doing all 3 hikes and earn the badge. yay.

I cheated on my BFRs and went for a hike on the Easter weekend to check out another part of the Bruce trail. I took two other girls, one each day and introduced them to the Bruce.

If you wonder what BFR is, check this blog: http://traildivas.blogspot.ca/

On the Friday we went down to the Kelso area and on Saturday to Rattlesnake to hike parts of the Iroquoia section. The trails were muddy and slippery and icy and there was still lots of snow on them. So
we didn't really get that far each day, about 12k one day and about 8k the next. The weather was very nice. Sunny and warm-ish, really nice spring day and a bit overcast the next day which made it perfect conditions for hiking. Not too hot, not too cold and the best: no moskitos yet.

I can't wait to get out again. And I really need the weather to improve. Seriously.
